Organizing your busy life

Women are working longer hours and spending a lot of time doing household tasks and errands. In fact, women who work full-time spend on average 8.3 hours on a weekday on work (and for some women, additional time on the weekend) and a further 2.6 hours a day on household tasks such as housework, cooking, lawn care, or household management. This is in addition to on average 2.4 hours a day caring for family/children. Increasingly, many working women also have the responsibility to help their elderly parents.

How do you do it all? This is a question that working women get asked very often. Behind the multitude of tasks, surprisingly, working women are using more than one tool (usually 2 or 3 tools) to help them to organize their busy home life activities. Preliminary results of a Meiava Working Women’s Survey reveal that:

  • 64% of working women use handwritten notes or text messages to family and caregivers

  • 59% rely on adding things to their calendar they use at work

  • 41% use a paper version of a family calendar

  • 46% create a handwritten/paper based to-do-list

  • Only 27% are currently using a family calendar app

There has to be an easier way!
